Financial Planning

Financial planning is a process designed to assist you in maximizing the use of your financial resources - both income and assets - to help you achieve your goals and objectives.

Prospective clients receive a complimentary initial consultation, during which we will discuss with you the range and suitability of our services and, if appropriate, begin to gather pertinent information about your current financial situation and objectives.

If you decide to proceed with us, we’ll:

  • define the scope of your financial plan together with you
  • help clarify and prioritize your financial and non-financial goals and objectives
  • collect, analyze and evaluate pertinent information about your current financial situation
  • develop and present to you a written financial plan, which is intended to maximize the likelihood of achieving your goals and objectives

The scope of your personal financial plan will be based on your unique circumstances and requirements, and can encompass the key aspects of your financial life, typically including:

  • Cashflow Planning
  • Risk Management
  • Investment Planning
  • Retirement Planning
  • Estate Planning

Your financial plan may, for example, recommend that you:

  • Establish a living trust, will, powers of attorney and other estate planning documents
  • Buy/modify umbrella liability insurance or other insurance coverage
  • Modify your retirement plan investments to suit your new asset allocation
  • Consolidate several old retirement accounts into a single rollover IRA account
  • Save for a (grand)child's college education via a tax-advantaged account
  • Establish a charitable giving plan

Because financial planning is a process that should last a lifetime, ongoing planning is an important service provided by us.

After we’ve completed your initial financial plan, you may choose to retain us for ongoing planning advice on an unlimited, as-needed basis. Under our financial planning retainer arrangement, we’ll help you implement any recommended changes, and work directly with your attorney, insurance agent, or accountant, as needed. We’ll also provide you with regular updates of your net worth, and periodically update your plan to track your progress toward your goals. In addition, we're always available to answer any questions that come up.

Alternatively, you may choose to contact us for guidance at your convenience, and make use of our planning services at our hourly rate.
