Jim Corbeau
Jim
Corbeau, MBA, CFP® founded his financial advisory practice in 2000,
with the objective of helping his clients achieve financial success and
realize their aspirations. Prior to establishing his practice, he spent
over a decade working in Europe as a merchant banker, advising
companies and high net worth investors on a range of financial matters.
Jim received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1986 and his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and International Business from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1990. He also holds a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Jim is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He is also a member of several professional organizations, including the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the highly-regarded association of fee-only financial advisors, and the Financial Planning Association (FPA), a national organization dedicated to ongoing training and expertise in the financial planning field.
He has taught the rigorous Investments course for the Personal Financial Planning certificate program at the University of California, Santa Cruz-Extension, and is an active member of several civic and community service organizations.
Jim and his wife Shannon have three young children and make their home outside Portland.
Ann Garcia
Ann Garcia joined Maas Capital in 2010 with the goal of helping clients demystify increasingly complex financial issues.
Ann became involved in financial planning through work at Intuit, where she was part of the product marketing team for Quicken, the world’s leading personal financial management software.
Prior to joining Maas Capital, Ann ran her own consulting firm, working with technology companies to improve their customer communications. Ann has taken her passion for investing, solving customer problems and helping others achieve their goals and applied it to financial planning.
Ann passed the CFP® exam in 2009, and will soon have completed the remaining requirements to earn the CFP® professional certification.
Ann received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1989. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a number of professional organizations, including the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the highly-regarded association of fee-only financial advisors, and is active in a number of civic and community groups.
Ann and her husband Bob live in the Portland area with their two young children.
